This situation can affect any of us at anytime. My dear husband was diagnosed terminal 4th May 06 and passed 13th May 06, the day he passed my sons immigration cases died with my husband

Being working in a non-cap h1b and in same place for the past 7 years(went to school also here). I am desperate for a new job which obviously will take me to new place.
With an EAD and approved i-140 i can't use being single.
had i known 0.1 % of immigration rules 3 years back...then i would not have accepted this non-caped h1b job.
All i need now is not GC...I just need a caped h1b. I can even trade in my GC benefits for this....!!!
But i am not depressed.. i have accepted this has another options for myself.

My I-140 applied on july 13 2007 at NSC Transferred to TSC on 07/23/2007.
I-485/EAD/AP applied for me and my wife on 08/07/2007 at NSC per USCIS current filing instructions based on area where we live.
LUD 08/12/2007 on I-140.

Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences. I plan to take care of the Canada landing on the 4th of July. Will be in Canada for a week and spend some time with friends and family. Hopefully all goes smooth. I plan to re-enter on AP - will post my experience here.

Mine is EB2, reached July 2nd at 7.55 AM Fedex received by Robin Williams at NSC and I got the check cashed and has receipt numbers but my I140 LUD is not changed. But my I-140 was already approved and it was not concurrent filling. So if its not concurrent filing then I think I140 LUD should not change or not related to 485 receipt notice? Am I right?

I would not support this at all. Though it would clear the back log for the primary immigrant. What about the spouse and children. When you get your GC, dont you want to get it for your spouse and kids. Do you want them to keep in limbo for five years. It can be counted against family quota but should be given along with the primary. Otherwise its crap.
