visa bulleting indicates what is going to happen to EB3-I for 2009-10 year, in next 3-4 months it will again become U, with date around Nov'01, and that's it, unless CIR get passed (don't know when........) with some urgently needed fix for EB category, it is hopeless atleast for EB3-I folks

I am sorry stucklabour but a traffic/speeding violation is a misdemeanour and not breaking the law. Being in this country illegally is actually breaking the law. Now i am not going to get suckered into a whole legals v/s illegals debate, but at some level i do feel that undocumented workers HAVE broken the law. Besides the argument that "everyone does it" really doesnt cut it. 10 wrongs do not make 1 right. If you look at the punishment for the 2 things a speeding violation leads to a simple fine, a violation of Visa leads to deportation.

In pointing out that a speeder is fined but an illegal immigrant is deported, you are pointing out the difference in punishment for breaking the law. The punishment is man's decree, nothing more, nothing less. Yes, an illegal immigrant is breaking the law, but who knows what we would do if we had a bad life and made $1 a day and someone promises a better paying job in some other country. I am also like many others, suffering from GC related depression. After reading the posts, now I feel more comfortable that I am not alone:)
Two steps I wish to take: (1) Not to think about getting GC any more. Whether I am anxious or not, it will take its own time and let me develop the habit of patiently waiting (2) Have a back-up plan ready.

So poeple pls stop the "racist" remarks against Just the Mexican community and culture. On the other hand the moderators too have to understand that everyone here does have a right to express SOME opinions regarding the undocumented/illegal immigrants. When you see urself and people doing things the right way waiting for years, as opposed to people doing things the wrong way being literally gifted Green cards, it does raise anger and frustration levels.

3. Company can claim for GC Expenses and other related expenses if employee leaves within reasonable and agreed period. So probably $10,000 is in the agreement to cover that.
Now for the bad news, defending this agreement could cost much more than $10,000, besides time and hassles. More so, if employee and employer are in two different states as employer can file suit in their state. In short, $10,000 is cost of moving out of this job at the time of your choice. You could also look at it as the added cost of GC.
I suggest you should consider making a plan to move in your life and career. As they say, freedom is priceless.

1, Let choose an attorney who understands our pain wants to fight for our cause. if its Rajiv Khanna so be it.
2, Whatever the inital attorney consultion let split the consultation fee between five of us.
3, Once we have a stream lined class action in place will gather more people.

My 485 application was sent to TSC on July 24th (received on July 25th). No receipt yet and don't know whether the checks have been cashed or not -- my attorney is enjoying her vacation!

I called up USCIS and got a response from Nebraska Service center, where my application is currently pending, that my case is waiting for an opening at local ASC.
We, residents of Bay Area, are suffering a lot from fingerprinting backlog, due to presence of few ASCs.
Also, my case was receipted at CSC and transferred back to NSC. Such cases are taking unusually longer for FP appointments. This is quite frustrating as there are other people directly receipted at NSC in August who have got fingerpinting.
I would greatly appreciate if you could take steps to speed up the process of fingerpinting appointments.
